It’s Never Too Late
I’ll warn you in advance—this blog mentions hunting.
Please don’t tune out if you don’t hunt.
I promise you’ll get something from this.
When God began to teach me about His Kingdom more than 25 years ago, He used deer hunting to reveal many principles.
See, I used to hunt with no success. But one day the Lord spoke to me and said, Why don’t you trust Me for your deer this year?
He told me to sow a financial seed toward receiving my deer and to believe that I receive when I pray, according to Mark 11:24. And that year, I went out and bagged a six-point buck within 40 minutes of being in the woods.
From that point on, year after year, I began receiving my deer within 40 minutes of going out.
A few years into the process, I made my way to my tree stand on Halloween evening and waited only a few minutes before I saw a nice buck walking toward my neighbor’s woods. I knew that was my buck, but it was heading in the wrong direction.
It was walking away from me.
I hoped the deer would come back to where I was, but it wasn’t happening. I realized quickly that it would disappear into the woods with just a few more steps.
As I sat there helpless, watching my harvest just walk away, the Lord spoke to me and said, Tell the deer to come to you.
Tell the deer to come to ME? I questioned. Really, Lord?
It sounded crazy, but I had nothing to lose by obeying. So, calmly, I said, “Deer, I command you to stop, turn around, and come under my stand.”
I’m not kidding when I say that, instantly , the deer stopped, turned around, and began to walk toward my stand.
I was dumbfounded as the deer came under my stand, stopped, and stood still—directly under me!
Of course, I took that deer home that night.
So, how does this apply to YOUR life? Especially if you’re not a hunter?
Simple. Don’t sit in your proverbial deer stand of life and let your “deer” pass you by.
Don’t sit there wishing and hoping that things would work out for you.
Engage your faith and begin to speak to your situations with confident and urgent expectation.
I’ve faced many circumstances where it seemed I was a day late, a dollar short, or not qualified to handle the task at hand.
But with God as our partner, all things are not only possible ; they’re expected .
The biggest mistake you can make is to allow your circumstances to dictate your future. You have to engage life and confront your future.
It’s not too late, no matter what direction you seem to be heading. Take the reins and begin to pull things back in line with the Word of God. It’s not over until it’s over—you can still come out on top.
Don’t throw away your confidence. Hold steadfastly to what God has told you, and be diligent. Under no circumstances are you to quit, waiver, or settle for anything less than what God’s Word says. NEVER!
